Iowa Station Heard In SC

No lie I put my car on and it was left on 92.5 which is WIHB B 92 Charleston. But when I heard they were playing country saying Iowa's Country 92.5 KJJY. I was like what. How could they out power WIHB down in Charleston? I also sometimes get New 92.5 but it wasn't that as I know their country too. And just to say I live in Surfside and heard this.

Ken,

E-skip's been crazy the past couple of weeks. Nice catch. Now that I'm on vacation for the next few days, I'll be giving it a run to see if I can get some nice IDs. Let us know if you catch anything else. I'm up in Carolina Forest near Myrtle Beach National.

Very common this time of year. I heard a Colorodo Springs FM last week near Hendersonville. Mostly tropo-ducting. A friend near by heard one from the West Indies. Seems even better this year. :-*

I know what y'all are talking about. I live in North Carolina now, but I used to live in Tennessee and for a couple of weeks back then, the skip was all over. I was listening to 99.9 Kiss Country one day and another station started riding in. I waited to listen to hear the station ID and this came out: "99.9 WKIS, Boca Raton, Miami." I about flipped. Then, a couple of days later, I was flipping channels and came upon 95.7, which normally is WXRC out of Hickory. But this time, I was hearing country. I thought 'XRC had change formats until I heard later, "KILT, Houston." I was also able to hear an FM out of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. It's amazing what you can hear on any given day.

Would they have a translator? I thought it was KILT...maybe it was KIKK. It's been so long, I really can't remember. I do know it was a country station in Houston.

95.7 in Houston is a smooth jazz station. Maybe, just maybe, it was country at one point.

Thanks for the info. I know I'm not crazy...maybe a little "tetched."
