Hey everybody, wanted to give you a heads up on a new internet dance radio station.

www.ipartyradio.com

just launched this Monday. The website is still being built but the stream is up and kicking ass! iParty Radio mixes current dance hits with tons of classic favorites, even some fun downtempo songs like US3 "Cantaloop" - hence the name "Party" radio. With very little repeats and Mixshows coming soon!

Tune in and check it out, I'm loving it! (do I have to pay McDonald's a royalty for saying that? hehe)

Question -

Why did you relay Energy 98 for a while and then flip to your own station but not change your port? Now Energy 98 listeners who bookmarked your (our) stream think we're you. Out of courtesy you could at least change the port before you 'take off'.

WHAT? what does the port # have anything to do with it? it's a different address so how would people mix it up? Plus, you can protect yourselves from relays, and dump people who've been listening for an extened period of time.

So what is the point????

Lets just say YOU had control on preventing this!!! you could have turned off public relay....you could have ran reports to see who was listening and for how long, you could have banned the IP that was listening for a long time.

Lets face it YOU may know how to "run" a station (and to some thats questionable) but you do not know how to technically run a station.... give it up....

Re: Coments and suggestions

BTW, I'm not running this station. I'm just helping them by promoting a good new station cause they are friends of mine. I also love the variety and what they're trying to do. Soooo, don't start flaming me for they are doing. :)

BUT, if you said that iParty now only has 32 listeners then didn't they change whatever you said was "Hi-Jacking" energy98 listeners? So what's the problem now?

Ouch. Looks like you told me.

I don't play dirty like http://66.90.74.91:7000 does. Even the phone company doesn't turn numbers around that quick. I never objected to people relaying me in the past because I thought they were fans of the station and wanted to support me and Energy 98. Had I known you were harvesting bookmarks to help get some numbers for your launch, I would have had the IP blocked. Sad to see novice streamers have to resort to desperate tactics to get listeners now. I'm flattered that you thought enough of Energy 98 to relay it. That's showing you have class...I just don't get why you added a suffex to it.

Good luck with your station.

iparty radio = just another shoutcast station trying to get fake numbers from the lame ass shoutcast technology. yaaaaawn. i wouldnt worry about them because this station wont be around that long.<P ID="signature">______________

STop the hating. God are we in High school again. This is ridiculous. Someone tries to put something up and the haters come out. This board is turning into the biggest whine fest lately. The guy that put this station together is a good guy and works in the biz. Heck he had one of the biggest remixes on Energy in Chicago. But damn come on now this bickering has got to go. If you got an issue with someone they have this great invention called email use it. Hell how many so called internet stations are legal? That should be the question. But stop hating . This board is going down the toilet with that stuff. You wanna talk about the music or how we can all help dance radio thats fine stop whining.
