IParty radio coming back again

nd2023

Banned
According to iPartyRadio's Facebook page, their intellectual property got bought out and the station will come back within a week! Hopefully the third time is a charm and they stay on for good.
They were on from 2005-2010, then from May 28-October 28 last year. Their building was uninhabitable after the hurricane so they shut down.

And just like that, the Facebook page is gone, today's tweets were deleted. But I swear I saw that page, the free Slurpees I had today couldn't have frozen my brain enough to make me hallucinate about a radio station!

DJ Perry is correct, I am no longer involved with iPartyRadio and have sold the assets to another company. It was a fun run, but Superstorm Sandy was the nail in the coffin telling me that it was no longer meant to be under my watch.

One thing that is certain when you go to the IPR Facebook page is that there is STILL much passion for the brand. It made sense to let it go to someone who can truly spend the time developing it rather than let it continue to devalue and disappear into the nothingness of history.

I have given the new owners all the tools necessary to retain the original mission of iPartyRadio if they so chose, but they will do what they feel best fits their mission statement.

Life goes on!

Nope, don't recognize those names.

I just don't get that same "vibe" from the relaunched iPartyRadio that I had last year before the hurricane. There's a lot more pop than in the past.

Playlist is pretty bad. Sounds like 200 songs have put one playlist and shuffle turned on + IPR originally didnt play such a music (remixes) like they play now.

I better listen myvibelv, which is closer to original IPR, than the new IPR.

I'd say it's analogous to Pulse 87 turning into Party 87 (simulcasted from Party 105). Pulse 87 played a lot of dance music, and Party 87 played a lot of pop and hip hop. There was a backlash against Party 87, and it went away after a few months. Fortunately, we're not seeing a backlash against the new sound of iPartyRadio. I'm glad that the iPartyRadio "frequency" is still being used, rather than fading into oblivion after the hurricane.

Ironically, back then, I switched to iPartyRadio for my dance music fix, and now I'm listening to Party 105.

iPartyRadio is playing a LOT of golds, many CHR songs I haven't heard in years. Along with a smattering of today's hits and a few dance tracks. Also, in the prior version of iPartyRadio, I recall hearing a sweeper between every song, the new version plays sweepers every 5 songs. In radio, that's an eternity to go without identifying the station.
It's definitely sounding better than it did on day 1.

And Just like that, they are Gone again
The new owners went awol. At last chat with them, there was concerns that the listeners stats were horrible and I attributed that to the incorrect execution of the format, which they though was improved upon what we used to do. In the end, the fans showed this dislike of iPR'13 by hitting the disconnect button.

The digital assets (domains, social media) are once again under my control -- I have no future plans to relaunch the station ever again and will probably auction off the URL... The amazing success we had from 2005-2010 is good enough for me, and I'm not sure I'd have had the career I've had so far if it wasn't for that amazing 5 year run. For me, that's the REAL iPartyRadio.

The true end for me is STILL May 26th, 2010... Not the 2012 version and not this version.

Well man, I'm glad you had a positive run in your creation. Sorry that the relaunch and new ownership went sour but I agree, iPartyRadio's real legacy was between 2005-2010.

I must admit I didn't like iPartyRadio 2013 as much as last year's version or the original. It didn't feel the same as the original.

Wonder if it'll come back next year for an even shorter time.
