iParty Radio is coming back May 26

After a 2 year hiatus, ipartyradio.com will return on May 26, according to their Facebook page. This is awesome news! The fans on that page have been clamoring for iPartyRadio for the past 2 years.

Last year, they posted on Facebook saying that they were having a meeting with CBS in New York to discuss the possibility of bringing back iPartyRadio. Will Calder works at 92.3 Now. Recently, 92.3-HD2 got rid of their jocks. Hmmmm, could iPartyRadio be making its way to 92.3-HD2? That would be twice as awesome, and I'd put an HD radio in my car if that happens. Would be even more awesome if it replaced 92.3-HD1; I can dream, can't I ;)

This is some sweet news. Glad to hear ipartyradio is coming back!!

After reading the press release, it looks like the only reason why they've been given a chance to come back, is because they have teamed up with JamTraxx Media, Inc. http://www.jamtraxxmedia.com/. They are probably backing them financially so that they can afford royalty fees, among other things. If running a radio station like this or any other venture is your passion, even if it is just a side job/hobby, you should find a way to run it on your own financially. If you can't afford it, let it go and move on. I think it's sad that if the money is gone, you have to "ask for a handout" and team up with another corporation/entity just to cover your ass. Just my opinion.

Will works for jamtraxx. They aren't looking for a hand out, it was a business decision. A lot of these Internet stations are partnering with companies. I think this is a great move for this station, jamtraxx is already programming a terrestrial station, this may lead to something big. As one of the founding fathers of I party I am very happy for Will and Jamtraxx.

Seriously? You should give up on your dreams just because you have no money or resources to keep it going by yourself?
If that was the case, MANY of today's successful companies would not even exist today. Hello... Apple? Microsoft? Starbucks? Google? Or how about companies where demand was so high that they could not afford to catch up and needed cash infusion via grants, angel investors, or even the help of other people?

Yes, Will works for us and has produced mixes under the RadioMixes banner for almost a decade. He was also a colleague of mine at Energy 92.7/5 Chicago and 103.7 KISS-FM Milwaukee.

This is the year of expansion for JamTraxx Media. After much success in radio syndication it is definitely time for JamTraxx Media to also revisit our web streaming roots and make some progress on a consumer model. So no, Will didn't come to us asking for a "handout." We came to him. We acknowledged a brand that has recognition and still has potential. As we move forward in a more-mobile world, memorable brands will be the key to future success.

Join us in celebrating the relaunch of the #1 Party Authority. iPartyRadio kicks off at 12noon CST at http://www.ipartyradio.com.

Some people need to get off the FOX koolaid learn the difference between a handout and an investment. Many successful businesses need the extra capital in order to successfully take off. If the idea is worth the money, then money is to be made for all.

I am glad iParty Radio is back and confident that the decision to go on air again will work out for all parties.

Not for nothing, but this is kind of a snarky reply.  I know how it felt to go off air and come back due to financial difficulties, and no, there's nothing wrong to "ask for a handout." :)

Well, Will does do the production for 92.3 Now so it shouldn't be a surprise.

As for the comment about iParty receiving a "handout", that's just total BS. Many internet station, including mine, have taken advantage of a provision in SoundExchange's agreements and have formed groups that allow a bunch of station to operate under one umbrella. It's smart business for people that make no money and since this is internet radio we're lucky to break even. No one gets to skirt the royalties that have to be paid to the publishing companies.

There is no plans for iPartyRadio on WXRK-HD2, 3 or within CBS Radio.

John is right though, I do imaging for iPartyRadio and have done some imaging for 923NOW. Ironically, I borrowed a few scripts from iPartyRadio when we reproduced the Saturday Night mixshow imaging on 923NOW. "These are New York's hottest DJ's whose sounds define the Tri-State's nightlife vibe" was reworked from iPartyRadio's "these are some of the worlds hottest DJ's whose sounds define today's nightlife vibe"

i'm to blame for the similarities. :)

Thanks for all the kind words... And it's good to know that investments in the future are now called handouts.... I guess that trend started with the government and the banks, eh?
