Not a Houston specific post, but I live here and know a lot of you would like this.

Remember telling yourself that you got into the biz because of the music. I do. So to keep that spirit alive, I'm constantly in search of great music delivery systems.

For you LIVE music fans, check out Wolfgang's Vault on your iphone apps store. Nothing but great LIVE, FREE shows right on your phone. Listening to a great Black Crows show from 1990.

I'm also a big fan of I Heart Radio, the Clear Channel app. I listen to Baker's MN show every time I walk my dog in the morning. One suggestion. Possible to put a "call the station" button this app. Makes sense to be able to listen to a radio station on my phone AND be able to call it with one push of a button. Marketing guys, get with the Engineering dept and make this happen.

I think radio iPhone applications are a very appropriate post for Houston. I forgot that there are three - not two formats dead in Houston that were currently available:

(1) Rock - KLOL - RIP
(2) Oldies
(3) Christian CHR / rock

Houston based Internet stations would be on-topic, I think a couple of people have posted oldies alternatives. The iPhone has the ability to stream, and an increasing number of stations have iPhone apps for just that purpose. Add to that the iPod dock in my car (aftermarket cable), and I think we have a winner! At least if you are one of the wierdos who like the formats above more than the slop of more Spanish language, more country, more talk, more classic rock wannbes, and more wimped out praise and worship.
