For those of you looking for something new on the SW band, a new numbers station has sprung up just after the death of the ayatollah.

Huh... with all the fancy technology they have today, they still use something as old-school as shortwave! Numbers stations have been around for years; I remember listening to them as a kid. Right now on 7910 there is some sort of data stream.

Scary. Seems similar to the infamous 'numbers' station from Russia.

Instructions to carry out acts of terrorism by their faithful?
I had this first initial thought as well, Kat. What better way to get a message to their operative who may be anywhere in the world than this? It may seem to be a primitive approach, like Ed mentioned, but if you want to cover a large portion of humanity, a shortwave broadcast is certainly the way to go about doing it.

i like ringways content, but i dont like the clickbaity approach and how serious they make the titles or content

The state-of-the-internet-art allows the tracking of any sender, receiver, poster, follower, etc. based on IP address. You want to listen to a streamer, or view a website, the NSA can figure out where you are. Someone with a shortwave radio and a decent directional antenna can listen to any receivable, intelligible station from the darkness of their basement or attic, and no one has to know. If you've been enlisted in the Iranian cause, and are waiting to hear if you've been activated for your sleeper mission, name a more anonymous way to get your marching orders without our government knowing that you're doing that.

Some of his videos could just be blog posts - this one is a case in point, the majority of the video is just drone footage of a random UK radio tower with no relation to Iran - it's a nice view of the two Runcorn bridges at sunset, but of little relevance. The actual footage of the station is a recording from someone else's YouTube channel.

He's got into hot water a bit for it in the past - he made a video all about a pirate station and padded it out with footage of an unrelated, legitimate transmitter - the licensed station in question were unhappy.

BTW back in the 1960's and 70's when I was stationed at Keesler AFB once as an student once as an instructor, on the other side of the base was a training area for what we called "ditty bop" school. These guys were trained in Morse code (and probably other secret codes) reception. Almost every one of the Airmen were stationed over seas after Tech School. I don't know what ever happened to these folks but IMHO anyone who can listen to code and type the results for 6 or 8 hour shifts deserves extra pay!

This could be a job for AI but the DOD has severed ties with their AI Contractor because the contractor would not allow their technology to be used for no human control killing and servalance of US citizens.

IMHO I will side with the "woke" contrator on this issue.

You didn't think the video would have actual footage of the real tower, did you? It was obvious that this was some kind of stock footage. If it was, then the State Dept. would be having a conversation with the content creator. Lol. I see lots of videos on YT that do this, strictly to give some visual to look at.

That’s just the way those YouTube guys gotta play the game
