Iran Shuts Down Internet

Nothing new. Iran has been doing terrestrial satellite jamming for years. Since 98% of all television viewing in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are via satellite, Iran has broadband mobile transmitters they drive into areas tuned to a satellite transponder downlink frequency.

We used to call governments in the MENA shutting down ISP's: Brute Force Internet Circumvention. It's easy to do because the governments own all the phone lines in and out of country. Egypt did it during the Arab Spring. Iran does it weekly. The UAE and Saudi Arabia do deep packet inspection, and will just track down offenders.

Seems Suleimani's cell phone led to his downfall. He got a great deal from the New World Order cellphone company. Only $6.66 (US) a month.
Apparantly the company's slogan didn't bother him. "We know where you are, even if you don't."

Hahhaahhaaha...Apparently he did not know they can track his cellphone.Or he was stupid...

More like naive, perhaps. I doubt most of us even give a second thought to whether our phones have been compromised.

I used to travel to the Middle East and North Africa fairly frequently, but was fortunate enough to have been educated as to the vulnerabilities of devices like phones. Knowing that when traveling, I used to take a burner phone with me. Would remove the SIM card and throw it into the trash before I got back to the States. Usually on the way to the airport.
