WOAI has named a permanent co-anchor for its 10 p.m. newscast. Irene Cruz will take the seat beside Randy Beamer on Monday at the NBC affiliate, which is owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group.

She also will be a reporter on WOAI’s 5, 6 and 6:30 p.m. newscasts.

Cruz most recently worked as an anchor and reporter at ABC10 in Sacramento, California. She started her career in Yuma, California, after graduating from the University of California, Irvine, with a bachelor’s degree in literary journalism.
