Iron Man Thom Hartmann at it again!

All this week, he'll be doing 9 hours of talk radio a day, as in addition to his morning KPOJ show, and his afternoon syndicated show, he's filling in for Sam and Janeane on Air America's "Majority Report".
______________

and unless there is a major event going on, he could fill all 9 hours with something different. he never ceases to amaze me.

Wish he wouldn't get so excited, he starts yelling and his vocal cords suffer.
______________

Is He On All Three?

Wondering: Is he really doing all three shows? Or does he have the prospect of a fill-in on his KPOJ or syndicated show?

I mean, he's the iron man of liberal talk radio and all, but 9 hours a day is a bit much.

He's doing all three today. I streamed his local show through www.620kpoj.com this morning and am now listening to his syndicated show through http://www.airamericaradio.com/thomhartmannpage

Is he ever going to change his website to reflect being part of a legitimate organization as opposed to some backwater self-syndication status?

Hartmann is a true believer, and don't forget hes an active author...he's got so much material to discuss, I doubt he even seems fatigued.

The difference between Thomm and others is you see he is chargeed by what he does...Malloy and Rhodes are like that (although Randi whines a bit too much now and then) but that kind of energy is what makes their shows worth visiting regularly..Hartmann reruns on WKOX are great but I wish we could hear more of him in this area.

Id like to see a Arnesen, Miller, Hartmann, Rhodes, Diamond, Malloy line up on some station thats just looking for another way to go....besides just taking the AAR lineup.

He is a passionate SOB isn't he.....ill bet he's having a time trying to stretch this week...plus the topics this week are going to be easy to work through.

There's nothing backwater at all about self syndication in news/talk. Furthermore, although I can't speak for Hartmann's web site, personal web pages in this business are sometimes managed by third parties and therefore subject to infrequent and/or incomplete revisions.
______________

Re: Thom Hartmann for Bob Brinker?

I'd suggest Thom Hartmann as a sub for Bob Brinker. I heard Thom discuss economic issues at great length on the Majority Report the other day. Thom and Bob share similar (not exact) viewpoints on taxes, energy policy, oil, alternative energy, and global warming.

Given that Moneytalk w/ Bob Brinker has changed its format to include interviews on economics and energy policy with some left leaning guests, I think Thom could sub for Bob and have interviews with left-leaning guests on economics and energy. This would be similar to when Kudlow sits in for Bob (from the far right) and interviews far right conservative economic guests. Listeners complain about Kudlow's far right conservatism.
______________

Report from Denver

I'm here in Denver for a month now. Air America is on KKZN Boulder (Clear Channel), however they put Ed Schultz on instead of Randi Rhodes, then they put Randi Rhodes delayed on instead of Majority Report. Which means there is no Majority Report, it is not a quality enough show to warrant broadcast, in their opinion. Normally that is a good schedule, but this week I would rather hear Hartmann instead. So I miss Hartmann all week long.
______________

Jay Marvin, KKZN nightime signal

Isn't KKZN-AM 760 Denver morning host Jay Marvin in for syndicated talent this week???

How is the nightime signal of that station? They are 50kW day, 1kW night. I'm not sure about the ground conductivity and terrain there.

You are the "iron man" of talk radio listeners.

Yes, they promote him often although I haven't tuned in at that time. It's great having a local station with the muscle to do what they want despite AAR's contractual demands.

Daytime is booming all the way south to extreme rightwing Colorado Springs and Pueblo. And that is just with my car antenna while driving.
Nighttime of course is just limited to 15 miles around Boulder.
______________

Not really. Like most listeners, I switch the "dial" often, especially when those l-o-n-g spot sets come on. But I was curious if Hartmann was going to do all three shows.
