Is 100.7 The River flipping?

I wonder if the River is about to change formats. They havent had a playlist on their site for 2 weeks now and I also notice that they are playing much deeper stuff then they used to and thats usually a tell-tale sign for rock stations that they wont be around for much longer. Chris Shebel is the PD, Kiss sounded really good when he was the PD so I wonder if Urban is in 100.7's future? K97.5 really needs some competition and I think they could be taken down a few pegs if a good Urban comes to town.

Going by some recent changes by Clear Channel...

"Magic 100.7", "Oldies 100.7", or maybe "Big 100.7", "The Triangle's Greatest Hits?"

Just sayin'...

I agree. Their playlist really is all over the place.

Seeing how CC has popped some classic hits/oldies/whatever stations out lately, that is why I was thinking about a re-image and transition to traditional classic hits (like their transition of classic rock 103.7 The Band to Oldies 103.7 in SFO). Clear Channel is launching oldies on 93.3 WLZT in Columbus tomorrow.

It seems like, though, to me, that 93.9 would go first - it seems to overlap so with G105, and looks to be performing a little worse than 100.7.

They are certainly up to something. Sitting here in my office and hearing "I love you more today than yesterday..."

Thought WTRG had come back for a second there.

I just heard right now that they are going to start simulscasting an AM sports station on Monday???? This came from a pretty usually good sourse for over 32 years, guarunteeed!!!!! bBut seriously folks, that's the real daeal so right it down cause you heard it hear first and I have never been what? That's right. Wrong. :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :D :D :D

WOW! That's sort of a shocker...sports!?? Does CC have an AM sports station in RDU? I have also noticed the wider format. I know it isn't Arbitron-friendly, and all the radio industry research say the cool kids don't like "oldies"...but, I'd like to hear that old PAMS signature on their legal ID. That was once a great, fun-to-hear oldies station. I wonder if they will move something like River's original format to 93.9.

CC hasn't had an AM in the Raleigh-Durham market since they sold WDUR 1490 AM in '04 (I think it was) to Triangle Sports Broadcasters, where it became part of the ill-fated ESPN 1090 WTSB. Capitol Broadcasting owns the market's three sports formats (WCMC-FM "ESPN Radio 99.9 The Fan", WDNC "620 The Buzz", and WCLY 1550 "ESPN Deportes").

I think Clear Channel should bring back "Oldies 100.7"

::) ::) I think Clear Channel should sell all of their stations and get out of the business and let Broadcasting go back Pre Cheap Channel! BIGAPE

Who knows if 100.7 is flipping, but they're playing all-Christmas music now, which is a potential sign; the last time CC-Raleigh had one of their stations go all-Christmas (since dropping Christmas altogether from 93.9 after its flip to Kiss) was two years ago on 106.1 when they dumped country in favor of Rush Limbaugh and his cronies...

Strictly a stupied and uninformed rumor. Nothing is odd about them going Christmas for the holidays. It's a ratings winner and it's what Clear Channel does. They will be The River after the holidays.
