Seems like 1190 fades in & out & is more subject to electrical interference lately (last 3 weeks or so.) Are they running at reduced power ?

No

they probably have a kid engineer who knows nothing about processing, apparent loudness...but then who cares anymore...its just some feed coming from somewhere...long gone are the glory days when 1190 was truly an amazing sounding radio station...and that with old school processing and an engineer with good ears who knew how to tweak, tune and layer to create his own magic.

1190 is no doubt running at night power. Their signal is poor up here in Mckinney at the moment. Where its usually quite strong.

Also anyone else notice a horrible het on 1400?

Trust me son, none of their engineers are "kids". ::)

In the Lakewood area of Dallas it's usually quite strong by day & fairly strong at night. In the daytime over the weekend it seemed weaker than normal. Near downtown Dallas (at night) it's seemed a bit weaker than normal lately. These observations were the reason for my posting this.

They're running on their day site at regular power levels. Maybe just conditions changing or something as to why you're hearing differences.

For whatever it's worth...last night & early this morning they were loud & clear in Downtown, Uptown & Lakewood. Noticibly better than during the day (in Lakewood) on Saturday. Maybe the atmospheric conditions.....

I would love it if they would stick to playing classic country.

There is reduced power in the brain cells of the people who run/ruin the joint. They have had themselves hanging from a cross for too long.

I remember when 1190 was Fox Sports 1190 and they were an Astros affiliate in 2003. That was awesome, having an Astros affiliate in Rangers Country. I can pick up the 'Stros in DFW now on KBBW out of Waco, but at night KBBW reduces its power, and you would be lucky to pick it up north of Hillsboro.
