I don't know about that. But I do know that over the years, music format radio has bounced back and forth between personality DJ intensive modes and forget the DJ modes. For a while there, it seems most stations were touting "much more music", and restricted DJ stop sets and seemed to hire only bland, personality-free (aka "cheap") announcers. And then it shifted back to the kind of DJ's listeners who tune in to hear. And then back to the other ad infinitum.
I don't know which is best, and considering how the pendulum has swung back and forth, I doubt if those active in the industry know either.
The jockless "Jack" format is just another variation. It might last a while, but like everything in radio, it will probably fade away eventually.
Who knows what's next? Personally, I could see someone programming entire days along the lines of "Delilah After Dark", with one DJ broadcasting the exact same show nationwide. Such syndicated shows are common enough on weekends and the graveyard shift. Don't be surprised to see them start cropping up during weekdays between the two drive slots. At the same time, don't be surprised if you don't.
