is 960 the only station in this market that....

I can't help but notice that a majority (more than half) of their spots are all PSA's for the "U.S. Dept of [Fill-in-The-Blank] & The Ad Council." Now, when KWSS-LP does it, there's an Afterschool Special coolness to it, besides the fact they've got the excuse of being an LP station. But, when a presumably "for-profit" station whose management and talkers have careers built on ripping a myriad of federal agencies, the same federal agencies who (with the assistance of the Ad Council) are paying the bills over there, I can't help but wonder what would happen to 960 if all those federal agencies were to be axed. There'd be no more 960. ???

PSA's are, by definition, unpaid, free and voluntary contributions of the stations that air them.

As suggested in the previous response, stations running syndication often use them to pad out fixed length stopsets... which in January may mean most of the total time, since this month is notorious for low, low sales volume.

KUPD runs them sometimes during Loveline.

Especially the one from the Louisiana Department of something about "micro-organisms" except the VO doesn't say "micro-organisms." ;D

YIKES! Good thing that NFVG doesn't have to say "public service". We can only guess how that's mispronounced ;)

If 960 could just figure out how to play a PSA or an intro without cutting off the last 5 seconds...

Shabby excuse for a radio station

The time sold on Salem's Christian talk stations keep their conservative political talk stations afloat. That's the way it has always been.

Neil Boortz claimed Salem would not carry his show because he was not against abortion, maybe Salem does not like certain sponsors either, sex pills and potions for example.

Yet, their stations carry (or in the case of 960, carried) Dennis Miller, who isn't widely known for his social conservatism either, and has some liberal guests on his show as well.

It makes me want to ask the question if Michael Savage was dropped from Salem stations years ago because of his son's Rockstar Energy drink.
