they went from 80's , 90's and today's

to the 90's , 2000's and today's

which i actually didnt mind as i love 90's musics and they played
r.e.m, alanis morsette, counting crow's ,green day , mariah carey , no doubt ,
norah jones, john mayer etc

all music i enjoyed ....but little by little ...and top 40 hit after top 40 hit
and now i cant tell them apart from y100 , which i listen to and enjoy but
it was a nice change of pace in my opinion from today's top 40

did they get a new program director?
the ratings getting bad?

Check out the various threads below that discuss Coast; all of your questions will be answered. :)

I don't think Coast sounds as much like Y-100 as it sounds like 93.9 WMIA. Both 'MIA and Coast have the same formats.

The simple answer is yes for all three questions

It would be nice to see the Coast see a Psychiatrist to help it through the rough times and bring it back to reality....you know when it was top 5 in the market and carried the ever so popular totally 80s weekend with the ever so popular Gnarly Charlie......I never understand why people have to change something that is good, it's like...if one weekend it get's a bad rep it's chopping board time

once it's been chopped, it never survives

I'm sure your frustrated by the changes, but standing still while the broadcast world changes around you is a recipe for ratings/revenue disaster. Take a look at the changes happening in other markets...Los Angeles and Chicago come to mind. A/C audience becomes undesirable as they grow older, and Hot A/C's that morph into Modern A/C, CHR type stations are just KILLING it in the ratings game.
