Is a 1 share possible for KKGO?

Any ratings predictions for KKGO after the switch to country on December 1?

When was the last time the 1260 frequency was above a 1 share?

The fact that it is AM really limits it. Most of the Country shares have been taken already by KFRG, which broke the 1 share level in October extraps.

Unless it happened after 1980 (which I doubt), the last time 1260 broke a 1 share that I can find was....

The November/December 1971 Pulse ratings, where the station (with Sweet Dick Whittington in morning drive) did a 1.2, tying for 25th place with KBCA (then jazz, now Saul Levine's KMZT), KFAC-AM (then classical, now Spanish KWKW) and KPOL (then beautiful music, now Movin' 93.9). It was also the last hurrah...1260 didn't show up in Pulse again through the end of that company's ratings in 1974.

Yes, AM does really limits it's potential and I too doubt a 1 share is possible... but that 2nd sentence should begin "Some of the country shares have been taken already by KFRG"... a lot of Country listeners are still trying to find a station to listen to or are finding other ways to temporarily deal with the problem... A bunch us of old KZLA listeners are still in touch with a lot of their former air talent.

KFRG came from an LA no-show to having over 60% of the 12+ share that KZLA had in its last month of country. That is "most" in anyone's book.

You make a gross assumption here... I'll leave it to you to figure it out...

The assumption that there is little more than a 1.5 to 1.7 share for country is based on the fact that the market is over 75% ethnic and immigrant, meaning that nearly none of that group has any interest in country.
