Is A New 102.1 Frequency Starting Up For The ATL???

Was riding around Killian Hill Road and Hwy 78 in Gwinnett county on sunday night and noticed dead air on the 102.1 fm frequency. I carried this all the way up toward old town Lilburn. I continued to carry and heard the quiet dead air 102.1 frequency all the way to Conyers. I'm wondering if Magic 102-1 in Athens might be planning a move in, or if possibly another 102.1 might be starting up for the metro? Is anybody else out there hearing this???

Well it sounds like a new frequency gearing up the area because when I scan the fm dial it actually stops at the 102.1 fm frequency. I also noticed that the stereo symbol is lite up on my car radio as well. But I don't know, mayby it is a pirate or something.

It might be some kind of thermal inversion or tropo ducting. Often big temperature changes or fog can do strange things to "line of sight" (FM) signals.

With B98.5 I don't know if moving Magic 102.1 into Atlanta is something Cox would want to do,because the two stations are so similar. Magic 102.1 is the Athens station that Kevin Steele use to be the program director at,and did afternoons until 2009 when Cox did away with Bulldog 100.1.
