Is AM-HD really FM Quality?

I certainly hope your AM presets are in ascending frequential order, left to right
(560-680-740-810-910-960). FM too. Otherwise we'll have to ask you to turn
in your "official radio geek" badge. ;D

Some stations tweak their frequency response down to 4 kHz with the use of "brick wall" filtering in order to "protect" the IBOC subcarriers. The result, the analog sounds like crap.... plain and simple.

So in other words, out of 1000 listeners, the two with I-CRAP radios get a reasonable
amount of fidelity while the other 998 folks have to listen to "un-EQed Telco line" AM. :

I have an Accurian radio and the quality is much better than "normal" AM. 1310 is HD now, but for some stupid reason the music is in mono.

I'm told that this radio also has CQuam AM Stereo but I couldn't confirm it.

KLOK AM 1170 HD plays all sorts of international music and sounds good with my car's receiver. In fact, I can barely decipher the analog AM signal even around SJ. For
a while I was even wondering if they still ran it with 50kW.
