Why are you calling yourself Pumpkinhead Harvey now, Branson?

So you can come back as Pumpkinhead Harvey and tell everyone
that Branson is right?

Gotcha!

And I wasn't lying. Aw heck, I'm not even sure if any of those stations actually had a studio or anything, mabye most of them were run from someone's labtop in their house.

Salina especially was dissapointing as hell. Not even a CHR to be heard.
______________

Too bad you missed the glory days of the former KG-99. It was a great top 40. Their morning team went from Salina, KS, an unrated market, to Charlotte, NC, a P1 market.

Then the station fell slap down a hill and sucked. 95.5 was a decent top 40 for about 6 minutes, then they immediately started watering it down.

Salina radio used to be pretty fun... a hard rockin' AOR on 95.5, a hot top 40 on 99.9, a passable country station on 93.9 that named itself after a sexual lubricant... I especially liked the chopped microbus that KQNS 95.5 used to take out to the festivals. Then the radio groups started buying and genericizing.

And of course, a great public station on 89.5, but they're out of Hutchinson.

Whenever I think of Kansas, I yawn. No offence to Kansas residents. Radio must be sleepy, apparently.
______________

Come, now. Kansas is at most the 5th most boring state, after Nebraska, Wyoming, and the Dakotas. And hot on the trail of Montana! Kansas-almost as exciting as Montana! Should replace that old "Best Kept Secret" tourism slogan.
