Is anyone getting Sirius for Howard Stern?

Shouldn't that be Sirius for Music? Sure Howard is an added bonus, but in just a few short years, terrestrial radio will be an obselete as cassette tapes. Look who will be crying during that time "aka Clear Channel, etc" XM radio owner and LOVING IT. Couldnt pay me to listen to anything on FM.

I gave Howard a try when his show first started in Houston. I just didn't like it. To me he is not funny at all.

I went XM about a year ago right after the demise of KLOL. Since then I only listen to terrestrial for live sports and traffic.

I have XM and don't even tune in to terrestiral for live sports and traffic, I get both on XM. Since KLOL's demise, I bought an iPod for when I'm not in the car and have really enjoyed that.

For Stern? No, I dont like him at all, I listened to him about a week, and all he seemed to do was whine about other companies not sticking up for him and all he would do was talk about other people. The only time I think is when I turn to XM or Sirius is if FM and AM turns all digital and I cant hear it any more.

I'm getting XM because of Howard Stern

That character shouldn't be allowed on any form of radio at all. I still remember him making comments about the sexual characteristics of slain Columbine High School girls. I am sure the parents of the girls really appreciated it. Bad taste ought to equal being canned. This went beyond bad taste to total depravity.

If I do get Sirius, it WILL be for the sole reason Howard is on there. I had a rental car for a couple days a while back, and while I did like the music, I did start hearing a lot of repeats the next day on the hair metal station, for instance (I'm almost certain they've got a Scorpions song playing once an hour). So of course the wide variety of music will be great when I'm in the mood, I think I could live without it. I did like the traffic channel that had continuous updates for Dallas and Houston.

The one thing that scares me is it would cut out if I was in a parking garage for too long, or under a car port or something. That could get very annoying, so I'm still debating. On the positive, I'm glad I'd be able to listen inside my home over the internet without having to bother installing a home unit.

But Stern totally has me hooked after the short time he's been in Houston.

How will you listen over the Internet? I'm hooked too.

From what I've heard, if you subscribe to Sirius you are able to listen over the 'net at no additional charge.
