Is anyone going all Xmas music in Prov. this year?

The guesses are already on for when a few of the Boston stations will flip to all Xmas, all the time....Any predictions or "inside " scoops on Prov stations doing so????

Lite Rock 105 has an ad in the RI Monthly holiday gift guide touting them as the official holiday music station, so all Christmas is a given there. I have my doubts about Coast considering the Hot AC direction they've gone. On the one hand, they could assume some of Lite's listeners could come over to them to escape Christmas music & decide they like the music. On the other hand, they have to consider more & more what PRO-FM will do which will not be all Christmas. Depends on how well it worked for them in years past & also whether it's worth it with the gloomy holiday sales predictions floating around. If Clear Channel insists on one station going all Christmas, they could even take a cue from WROR & WODS in Boston & decide to do it on B101.

I'm sure that Premiere is working on a "holiday version" feed of the Ryan Seacrest program, just like Delilah!

Seacrest will probably play some holiday music anyway. Normally I'd say a station wouldn't adjust all its programming to be in line with what Seacrest does but Coast seems to be promoting only him. Does a station that recently made some major music changes want to ditch them for the holidays right away? With Lite going all Christmas sometime next month does Coast want to do the same and leave listeners scrambling for other choices? Before this year it was a different ballgame. For Lite listeners who don't want all Christmas I don't know what their other choice would be. For those who stayed with Coast for the new format PRO is the obvious other choice now. I say Coast doesn't do it but it depends on who calls the programming shots there. Even if a Christmas format helps them during this one season do they want to work towards being a contender for one month or all year?

Isn't the Seacrest show like John Tesh, where stations insert their own music?
