IS Anyone minding the store at 55KRC?

Plenty of Jack Crumley news promos at the TOH, but no local news... instead, we're treated to a current weather forecast, followed by a stale weather forecast from earlier, followed by promos. This happened every hour since 7pm. Nice job. ::)

Sadly CC slashes again as supposedly out are: Tony Bender, 55 KRC program director, whose job has been eliminated (meaning they won't replace him). Sherry Rowland in promotions and traffic reporter Brian Pitts along with one in sales.

I've said it before: It's time to revisit the 7 station ownership cap. Eliminating a PD? Marketing director? HUH?

Wondering if the cuts brought a new traffic reporter to CC's WONE in Dayton. This afternoon I heard Keowee Street (correct pron. is KEY-oh-wee) butchered up as key-OW-ee Street. Nice! Can I get you a Band-Aid for your OW-ee???
::)

Both the "1360" and "55" threads deal with what i'd call unintentional technical glitches. No one wants dead air.
How about the intentional technical situations? Specifically, over modulating to a point where there is noticeable
distortion?
In most markets there is a company that will do monthly modulation measurements? The last guys to do it in Cincinnati
have ceased doing them and sold their gear.
Maybe its because the biggest offender, with the most AM signals, won't pay for the service. No paper trail to worry about.

Jry,

I would agree, to some degree. They were unintentional glitches, but when management has an intent to cut to the bone, because greedy corporate raiders are so debt-saddled the company can't even afford to have someone paying attention to the stations then that is intentional - intentionally cheap.

The sad thing is the problem isn't the technology being used but people being sloppy programming of it (for the most part -- yes I know cues are missed sometimes on satellite feeds) ... but overall if you program the Nexgen system well and have it set up right ... you can let it run for quite awhile without a human being in the building...

Problem is these PDs are being taxed with multiple stations, clusters etc... or not existing at all and the ball is getting dropped in terms of the little details.
