FCC notice: Call Letters KRJK for the 97.3 frequency for Owens One. Is a Jacked up format coming back to Bakersfield? Pirate tried...and went away.

I am not sure but I do know that while the format was the same, Pirate was not a Jack. Jack has that certain personality (or lack of). Sacramento first had a "Bob" which flopped but later got a "Jack' that succeeded, so it may be possible that Jack is coming to Bakersfield.

Jack FM...on the air 3pm Thursday. Question. Will it have the trajectory that Pirate did in 2005 (top 5 in first book)? Different climate now with Max, Mix and a more mainstream Fox.

While they're stunting now playing all Buck Owens tunes...this was released on radio-insight.

Wow! Bakersfield gets Jack, Sacramento has Jack, but, not Fresno.
But Fresno *had* a "Jack". If Jack was successful there, wouldn't Peak have kept Jack?

Actually the ratings for "Jack" in Fresno were not that bad, Peak wanted to expand KMJ to FM, and didn't want to use KMGV 97.9 or KWYE 101.1 as they had/have a local morning show and still ran local DJs thoughout the day and had better numbers, the thing though KMJ-FM has not ever had the numbers that "Jack" ever had, Jack always held a 2+ and KMJ-FM stayed around 1.0 give or take.

Speaking of Jack, I was listening to 97.3 Jack on the way south to Porterville on 99. By the time I hit Tipton and on the 190 east, Jack was coming in pretty good, got some interference from 97.1 though. :)
