Is broadcasting LW still popular in Europe?

Years ago, I would DX the Long Wave band a lot band when I lived on the East Coast. I know there’s been talk that the band is getting vacated by broadcasters in Europe, because the vacuum tubes for the transmitters are no longer available. Can you still buy LW radios in Europe? and how much longer before the LW band is no longer used for radio broadcasting in Europe? Does Long Wave have sky wave conditions in the evening hours as Medium Wave does? I know that a Long Wave signal can travel great distances during the daytime.

This year's World Radio Handbook shows about 30 LW stations in Europe, northern Africa and Asia. I'm under the impression that a number of those went silent this year, and several are pending closure when their equipment no longer functions.

BBC Radio four has long ago announced that when the last of their final valves (tubes) for 198 KHz runs out, so will the station.

Long wave reception from Europe has been noted in the US Midwest

I'm sure that LW radios are available in Europe, online at least. There also are undoubtedly numerous households with a transistor multibander from the 70s and earlier that have LW bands on them. Even boomboxes were made for the LW market -- I've seen a 1980s Sanyo boombox online that was a dead ringer for one of mine, except it had FM-MW-LW and one SW band, instead of FM-AM and two SW bands. It was marketed to Russia.
