Is Broadway Bill Lee MOVIN soon back to San Francisco

Rumors seem to be strong that New York's WKTU Broadway Bill Lee might be MOVIN back to San Francisco, Bill's contract was not renewed back in the Spring as KTU was preparing for Whoopie and future programming changes which included 11 year WKTU vet PD Jeff Z exiting. This would be intresting to see if they teamed Bill up with Sue Hall who both worked togeather back in the Gerry Cagle days at KFRC.

Are you implying that Bill Lee is rumored to part of the new Movin' 99.7 airstaff? If Sue Hall was let go, how will they team up? At another station? Or will they do like the Oakland A's did. Not renew Macha's contract, then a week later, rehire him. In other words, fire Sue Hall and then bring her back.

Where are these rumors about Bill Lee coming from? Will Bill Lee's wife come out as well? I can't remember her name right now, but she is an on-air personality also. When Bill Lee was on K-101, she was on Young Country 93.3.

I have read this Bill Lee rumor is several places and it all makes sense, Bill did very good while at KMEL 106 doing Morning Drive for 5 years, another 3 years at KFRC doing evenings Owning the Bay Area, and while in New York at KTU and HOT 97, Bill has owned the big apple.

Looking at LA's situation bringing Rick into the Movin format, Bill would be a perfect fit for Mornings on Movin, Bill and Presscot go back as friends I beleive, there is an aircheck floating around with Bill visiting the KWSS studios I think after he had left KMEL before heading back to WKTU.

As far as Sue Hall goes this is radio during a format change, eveyone's fired but people tend to be rehired in some situations once the airshifts are figured out and some people may have been given inside info for there futures. Bill and Sue worked very close togeather during the KFRC days and Bill may call the shots for his morning show.

I don't know that Bill ever did airshifts at K101 unless it was some fill in stuff after leaving KMEL, I know he did some weekend shifts at KFRC before working out the WKTU deal and moving back to New York. Brian Lee had worked at K01 a few years back.

Bill's wife is Beth Bacall, she worked at young Country and KFRC when Bill was at KMEL, after moving back to New york Beth worked on the Jammin Oldies station until it went dark and has been doing mid days at Star 99 in New York a hot a/c Christian Station. I would eventually see Beth joining Bill in the Bay Area as she is very talented and finding work with no problem.

Bill did, in fact, do shifts at both K101 and at the old Big 98.1 before moving to NY. You are correct about Beth. She will also be able to land a gig if they move back here. Good people.

I'm all for it! For some reason, I missed Bill during his time at KMEL, but he was brilliant on KFRC in the early 80s. As Michael Hagarty pointed out on the "KFRC Flips" postings - there would be some synergy there since Lee was at KFRC during the Jerry Cagle era, when the station was urban oriented...not unlike the Movin sound now...without the more recent music, of course.

that was actually the KHQT HOT 97.7 studios for their Final Broadcast. i might've been in the building i can't remember it's all getting blurry.
