Is CC getting the woodchipper fired up for Friday?

Rumor is the CC body cuts are coming this Friday...

"Hey, can you come in to my office for a minute..?"

While I totally laughed out loud on that one, I sure hope it doesn't happen. I was cut loose in Tucson a couple of weeks ago and the GM that did it was a former CC manager. Wonder if they go to school for that? That was exactly the wording used.."hey, can you come back to my office for a minute.."

Not too many people left to fire at CC Cincinnati. How long before they just voice track and run syndicated talk shows on 700 WLW?

By 2012 all of the CC stations left will either be running the same half dozen talk show hosts, led by the computer generated Rush from an underground bunker in the Colorado Mountains. The music group will have the same homogenized music with a 25 song rotation from a network of computers in an adjacent cavern. Even after the calendar runs out the animated Limbaugh will continue on into eternity.

What? If anything, it looks like there's too many people at CC Cincy. WLW has something like 15 personalities.

Actually clear channel has 0 personalities, djs or even a staff anymore. They just have blogs & bloggers.

And the blogs and bloggers are on a pretty bad website!

I guess they just changed the thing, but it still feels like a giant popup ad.

And I'd love to know who those 15 personalities are....

What a joke. FM drove me to satellite radio and CDs long ago. Now they're chipping away at AM. Sad to see John Phillips gone. And I thought Will Sterrett actually sounded pretty decent. One of the few professional sounding news voices they had left. Yet the love affair with the childish and immature Mo Egger continues over on 1530. Seriously....what will the radio landscape be like after another few rounds of CC budget cuts? And within a few years it would seem that every station in every market will be running the same programs all generated from one computer somewhere. And this is how the broadcast industry is attempting to remain relevant in the age of iPods and Internet?

No... they've all recently discovered that Interweb thingy and started calling it "NTR." Somehow, the product itself got left out of the equation - along with the fact that that Interweb thingy has been around for a long time now.
