Is Country WPGG leaving Alabama to Rock Florida?

It's been posted previously that 93.3-C1 WPGG - Evergreen, AL has applied to move to Shalimar (Fort Walton), Florida as a C2 facility. It's also been posted that WPGG's Evergreen facilities went silent last week.

This week the call letters of WPGG were changed to WRKN (July 18th).

This is what I've put together with this deal:

The FCC application says that Star hasn't closed on it's purchase of WTKE from Clear Channel but when they do they will transfer it to Cumulus in exchange for WYZB. Under Cumulus 98.1 would pick up Country from WYZB and Star would be free do do as they please with WYZB... as long as they stay away from Country and AC for 5 years.

The same would also occur with WPGG being swapped for WNCV. 93.3 would pick up AC from WNCV, Star can then put any format on 100.3 except Country or AC.

One would assume that the WTKE Sports format would go one one of those frequencies. I would guess sports would end up on 100.3 because it's signal reaches most of the Pensacola market while 105.5 is directional and doesn't cover any of Santa Rosa or Escambia counties. Whatever format WRKN becomes would end up on the other frequency. It's also possible that sports could wind up on AM 1400 in Fort Walton opening up a format hole in Pensacola.

Cumulus (or is it still owned by Star Broadcasting?) didn't waste much time taking WPGG off the air, poledo...I think the CP was issued just this past June.

Wonder what they'll do with the new stick in FWB.
