IS CUMULUS IN SERIOUS TROUBLE, DESPERATE OR BOTH?

Cumulus has a big debt that needs refinancing in December of 2011. They will be successful because most bond or debt holders of radio properties would rather take haircuts (forgive part of the debt or extend the terms at a lower interest rate) rather than what happened to Citadel. Both CC and Cumulus can play “poker” with their debt and win because if they lose, their creditors lose too. I have seen what a Citadel / Cumulus combined balance sheet would look like and it is not pretty.

If Cumulus were to stay afloat, they need to sell to "smaller market" stations, which would make employees, or what's left of staff members, happy.
