IS DAVID WEISS STILL IN RADIO?

When I heard from David last, he has been doing some freelance work for WINS, and still doing some VO stuff- especially Aid Auto Stores

and what about Amanda Clark

Good timing on the question, I was going to ask about Dave and Amanda the other day. I hope David is doing well. He took a big risk at WLIE, and he's an excellent morning show talker, which makes his NY Metro options very limited.

What about Amanda Clark. One of the top execs at Business Talk Radio responded to our posts when they cancelled Dave and Amanda's show. He said that they were retaining Amanda for other assignments. I know BTR does some lifestyle programming which would be a nice fit for Amanda, but I haven't heard anything since she left.

Of course, Tracy Burgess seems to have come out the winner in all this. After she was replaced by Amanda in one of the WLIE bloodbaths, she hooked up with Imus doing traffic reports and writing McCord's news. She fills in for Chuck when he's on vacation and then she has become more involved in the show, being included in some of the banter, and doing the "scum reports". What is interesting is that Imus tried (and was a bit successful) at dragging Tracy through some mimimally risque talk for a while. That seems to have died down and even her scum reports are more light gossip than anything else. My guess is that LIPA didn't approve, since she does PR for them. One thing I have noticed about Tracy is that she rarely looks up at the camera when on MSNBC. She looks straight down at her copy and you rarely see her face.

And what about Ed Tyll?

Haven't heard a peep about him. Even his website isn't up any more.

I bet the most missed personality from that station is Major Matt, the traffic guy =)

Too bad, Ed is a real talent and I enjoyed listening to him. I know he was working on some syndication deal after WLIE, but I guess it didn't materialize. Now as for that Major Matt guy...Personally, I think his exorbitant salary brought Stu to his knees, forcing the BTR deal... ;)

Funny thing...the first Major Matt was almost replaced by a second Major Matt...me...but money and timing didn't work out. I did get to meet Matt B, and what a nice guy he was! :)<P ID="signature">______________

That certainly wasn't the case - there is a reason Major Matt only worked 4 hours per day - he needed the rest of the day for a full time job to support the radio 'habit'. Ha! OK, I think thats enough of me refering to myself in the 3rd person...

LMAO...I told you what was going on! You even told me about your job climbing telephone poles I think. John McDermott interviewed me several times, and we got along well enough, but the money and hours weren't there for me. I wanted something full time, and he didn't have it. Guess it worked out, considering what happened to him and the station!
