Is Dennis Williams Gone from WGR?

I thought it best to start a new thread and not add this to the Jimmy T. discussion. But after reading one of the posts there, it was hinted that Dennis Williams was gone. I went to the WGR website and didn't see his name anywhere. Can someone fill us in about what happened? Did he get a TV job in another market? Did he leave on his own accord or was he fired? Williams' departure could give Brad Riter a boost if listeners are able to find him at Hometown 1230.

Folks - Dennis Williams will return from vacation next week. In fact, he will soon fill-in for other hosts as people start to take their vacations. If anyone has a question about WGR, please e-mail me or give me a call at my office. It's always good to talk about the business and stop rumors in their tracks.

Uh huh... kinda like the talk show hosts on WGR.

But seriously Andy, thanks for contributing to the thread. You'll find this board a most congenial fraternity of skeptics. Very much like sports radio talk show hosts (in Buffalo or Boston, your choice), we value rumor and half-truths. Hell, some of us scamps sometime even resort to using them in order to enhance our opinions and wild ass theories.

And, as always, we appreciate posters with a sense of humor.

While we're on the subject of WGR I shall dispel any further rumors that might arise here; The signal, which you may note is not normal for both WGR and WWKB right now, are not because of budget issues, problems we can't fix, cutting the power to save money -- hmmmm, let's see, what other rumors have been started here on RI whenever work is being done at a transmitter site...

Both WGR and WWKB are presently at low power with modified directional patterns to accommodate replacement of tower lighting. LOL there, I spoiled all your fun, letting the cat out of the bag before all the silly speculation was posted.

"If listeners are able to find him"?

That would be the "if" that rocked the world.

Ya' think in retrospect, Brad wishes he had made it in on time at 'GR?

Williams still isn't on the (recently remodeled) website? Tsk.

By the way, the rest of the changes look great, Andy. And it's good to see you here...
