Is DJ Laz out at Power 96

Now I'm not one to start rumors, so you didn't hear this from me, but word on the street is DJ Laz is out as Morning Guy at Power 96. A visit to the website seems to confirm the change. Checkout www.power96.com

Two big rumors...

First, simply crossing the street to WMGE.

Second, joining SBS as part of their reorganization. SBS changed dying 92.3 to Zeta, and all salsa. 106.7 will be a contemporary format, while 95.7 will be a crossover format for Hispanics, mostly English. Laz would be on 95.7 and possibly assist with WPAT in New York and KXOL in LA.

Take your pick... either one is totally unconfirmed and pure rumor.
 
man that crazy but big up to laz if was not for laz i would not have become a dj he tought me how to beat mix and scratch when i was 15 i rember first time i saw dj lash was 15 years old in wheel chair djing and a club and i was like if he can do it so can i and thats when i wanted to be a dj
 
Don't know about future gigs..but word on the street is that he had his salary cut several times and refused to take one more pay cut...

If all was well with this split up..he would have been allowed to say good bye to his audience and thrown a huge send off party...
 
That makes sense BTBI. I'm sure he got sick of salary reductions instead of increases. And I think he realizes that he has other opportunities in this market with so many Spanish options and English if you count a station like WMIA. The guy is good, and he has a following. Honestly, his act was getting played out on Power96. He can re-invent himself at another station. Between Univision, SBS, Clear Channel; I look for him to pop up pretty quickly.
