Is Fox’s “Animation Domination” headed for streaming only?

A family friend invested in one of the first cable companies in the 1970s and everyone in his town thought he was pouring money down the drain. They told him no one would ever pay to watch extra television channels.
Probably depends on what was available over the air there. Cable was very popular in towns that didn't get all the networks, like mine that never had its own ABC. And it also got more popular around 1977 when the satellite stations started, like HBO and WTCG (WTBS). My dad got cable in 1977 because of HBO. Before 1977, it was just multiple duplicates of the four networks, so he didn't see the value. Once they cut down the duplicates (by 1978 to no duplicates, just one of each network) it had a lot more value.

Harry Shearer is Mr. Burns' age. Decisions may soon have to be made.
The actors' advancing ages are becoming very audible in some their voices. Several years back, Kavner's Marge was beginning to sound more like Patty or Selma than Marge herself, although that seems to have abated as of late (to the shocking extent I've begun wondering if they're now quietly using AI to do her voice). Harry Shearer is another one whose voice has changed dramatically during the last couple years, causing most of his characters to sound distinctly different as a result. If you listen to Harry's archives of his NPR program "Le Show" at harryshearer.com, the change even in his normal non-falsetto voice, cadence, and speed is very noticeable when comparing broadcasts he did, say, 5-6 years ago to those he's doing today. (Unlike with Kavner, Shearer's vocal changes haven't seemingly vanished from the latest Simpsons episodes -- all his characters still sound different in even the newest shows, so he's definitely still him, and not AI.)

can they use AI for new voice work? or recycled voice work?
Ironically, the very first news topic Harry brought up during his latest NPR show (August 18) is about SAG agreements on AI voice cloning. Maybe my ears weren't deceiving me when the idea of Marge possibly being AI these days occurred to me.

She should have stopped doing Marge the way she did early in the series. I imagine it's hard on her voice. Dan changed Homer's voice in the early years too.
