I am wondering to myself, if we do get an 94.7 Amp Radio, is it possible that they can really overtake Hot 99.5 in ratings? Hot 99.5 has some excellent spot-on programming, but their playlist is a different story. I really think it's all in the music that 94.7 Amp Radio plays if they want to challenge Hot.
If anything, Amp music WILL have to be pitched up, and it's going to have to lean very rhythmic, especially with the high African-American/Latino population in Washington D.C. What is your opinion?
Personally, I think that would be an easy task, all Amp will have to do is add new music before Hot, and Hot is usually VERY SLOW on new music. Their also known for keeping recurrents in their playlist for a long time. Also, they tend to hold out sometimes on new songs, such as "Bedrock - Young Money" and "Blame It - Jamie Foxx".
If Amp came in today and started spinning Rude Boy - Rihanna, B.O.B. - Nothing On You, Justin Bieber -Baby, Trey Songz - Say Aah, and Ke$ha - Blah Blah Blah, I have a feeling there would be a very rough music war between the two, and would cause Hot to add in songs much faster than they usually do.
