Is Hot AC Lesbian music

How come everytime I go to an all female gym or a '' GIRL BAR'', they are always playing either a Hot AC station or a Hot AC service.

I think Hot AC is "Hot" enough to be anything. Something must have went wrong in society with women growing up who are now 18-45. A lot of P***ed off girl rock out there (Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, etc.).

I own one of the 3 or 4 "Hot AC" stations on the AM dial in the America, that I know of. "Hot AC" caters to females 25-45. It's rockish enough for guys to listen to. After a 13 year run of 60's-early 70's Oldies, or like most AM's are (i.e. news/talk, county-classic country, religion), it was refreshing to change to "Hot AC". At first, it was strange listen to it on AM, but my station has built a bigger audience, I guess it's because I have the guts to do something that no other stand alone AM owner would do. We have been doing Hot AC for 3 years now.

I could live just fine without hearing another Kelly Clarkson song, but other than "Before He Cheats" I can't think of another CU song that fits that definition. I kinda like most of Pink's songs.

Keep in mind that Hot AC is a female-targeted format. Most women have had to deal with enough jerk men so they can relate to these songs, and relatability is the name of the game. If you want sappy love songs, listen to Delilah.

No Delilah! Ahhhh....

I run a ModernAC, some girl rock mixed in with light alternative and AAA. It's a nice mix and I think it sounds better than the endless Adult Pop that HotAC has become.

A Hot AC (aka Adult Top 40) station station certainly is not lesbian music.

When you start out with tons of the top 40, Alternative, and AOR format megastars of the eighties, combine them with today's adult friendly artists, and a handful of present generation Country & top 40 core artists, your station will appeal to tons of listeners of all ages and races, and certainly males and females.

It appeals to older women because for them it is a look back at their younger days when that was the music of their lives. It's a bit of a nostalgia mixed with softer tempo and female friendly songs of today. Adult top 40... You're hearing it where the interested audience consumes it. Places smart enough to feature it. Now that I look at it...I've just mirrored the post before mine... Rearranged...
