Is Howard Stern trying to become the next Oprah?

He seems to rely on these extensive interviews with celebrities like Oprah used to do, and doesn't broadcast more than three days a week sometimes. These are also celebrities that he didn't use to be a fan of.

A more inaccurate comparison could not have been made. Stern has done high-profile celebrity interviews for a couple decades now. And unlike Oprah, he gets these people to reveal things most hosts would never get out of them.

I don't even know how many shows Oprah did a week towards the end, but Stern's 3-day week thing is the culmination of an evolution. As he has gotten older (and richer) he decided that instead of just ending the show (in part due to that awful schedule of having to go to bed at 8PM), he'd just systematically shorten the weeks and increase the vacations as the years have rolled by.

He is interviewing people he used to not be a fan of, and kissing up to them.
