Is Indiana radio ready for DST?

Much of Indiana is making the switch for the first time in nearly 40 years. This can make things very interesting for automated stations. Is everyone ready? if you're reading this after the switch, did anyone have problems, dead air, computers crashing, etc.?
______________

Actually, things have been MUCH easier for me this year in programming our satellite format, traffic-wise and automation-wise. The only thing I had to do was set the computers away from the "Indiana" time zone and to "Eastern" with the DST box checked. With the automation, I just deleted the 2am hour. Everything else is set up and the transition should go smoothly.

Before, on the other hand, I'd have to completely realign the jock liners, jock call carts, etc. Lots of reprogramming twice a year in a nutshell. I'm glad staying on EST year-round is over and, hopefully, many of my fellow hard-headed Hoosiers will actually like DST after a few weeks and will be keen on the idea to keep it around for awhile.

Stations like WIBC have to stay on night power later, but will be able to stay on the full 50 K late in the evening. Sure they would rather have the drive time available earlier.

Sounds great. I can remember working in TV at WLFI in Lafayette and having to do tape delay manually, as well as having all the satellite feeds move back by an hour. What a pain in the neck!

Hoosiers, try it, you'll like it! The pool will be open later, more time to play softball or cut the grass. No reason not to like it.
______________

Yeah. Who needs daylight at 5 AM anyways? I'd rather keep it until 9:30 in the summer months.
