I don't think any other explanation is really needed. What's with Mix? It needs direction, and a real format. Liquid Buzz...yeah, great...only if you're sitting in front of a computer, or have purchased a HD radio. The original, analog Buzz leaves much to desire.
______________

Yeah I agree with you on that, mix, i am surprised, number 7 market, and yet they VT people in for the most part, I guess they don't either trust them to do a live shift, or just don't want to pay them to stay the full shift. Both sound reasonable

Re: It is crap! Crap Channel.

When I had my XM subscription a while back, I noticed they had a dull programming, to me anyways, I couldnt really find anything on that I wanted to listen to. I finally had enough and just cancelled it, I wasnt to pleased with it, I have it on Direct tv now, listen to it every now and then, but I do think Houston radio is getting better.

dull programming???
3 alternative, 3 dance, 6 decade channels, 2 comedy, sports, news = dull?

all the Cheap Channel stations play the same 100 songs everyday. HD multiplied it by 2.

>I'm pretty sure he didn’t stutter when he said dull programming, major for clear channel, (dull programming that is) they need to make up their minds on what they want. I am just counting down the days' until some contracts are up, and we get rid of "old hometown legends" and get new faces in here.

Re: It is crap! Crap Channel.

Just because they have more channels doesn't mean they aren't dull (although I'm not sure if that is the right word to use).
It's all in HOW they are programmed.

I have only dont the online trial for XM and I can't comment on the news, sports, or comedy, but I really wasn't all that impressed with the music channels.
I didn't listen to the decades channels much, but they were ok i guess.

I did listen to the alternative and dance channels though.
While I think they are better than what we have on terrestrial radio, I couldn't find one any one station that I could stick with.
I found myself doing a lot of skipping around, especially on the alternative channels.

As for dance, I don't care for The Move or The System at all.
Too much repetitive beat looped mixes for my taste.
BPM has turned way too NY Diva-house for me.

The imaging isn't really there either.
Music aside, the delivery was dull for me.

That was my feelling excactly when I had the subscription, I thought it would be really something, but it was just missing something, dont know what, but just missing. I wish they would of converted the dedecaded channels from the 50's-70's all in one, I would of liked that more, and maybe have the 80's and 90's together. The Rock I mean was ok, but just was missing something as well. Comedy was ok, but I didnt really like a lot of it. I had my other reasons for cancelling xm. I dont work for any radio company either. I didnt like how not portable the units were, I know those myfi's only really work in the city. To bad Victoria's KVIC cant travel down to Houston better, that dancemixshow they do is really something to hear. DJ NR jenz. http://www.djnrjenz.com/
______________

Re: It is crap! Crap Channel.

I'm usually not up late enough to listen to mixshows anyway, and if I am, I am usually watching something on TV or coming home from going out with my fiance.
The radio is out in my car and I use an mp3 player for music driving to and from work.
Even if the radio did work, she'd kill me if I tried to make her listen to that stuff.
She's not a big fan of dance mixes.

I noticed the website you posted had mixes available for download.
I'm downloading some now and I'll check them out.
I don't know if I've ever mentioned it to you, but have you ever checked out iPartyRadio?
It's not terrestrial and certainly not local, but it's a good place if you're looking for dance music.

Thanks, I'll check it out, as I use to DJ part time but I'm kind of taking a brake of things right now, I buy a lot of my dance music off of itunes, its pretty good for dance music.
______________
