Is it just me or did everything turn bland?

It seems to me that the most recent changes in Radio here in Miami have left Miami in a bland spot...

Just a few months ago SHE came on the scene with really cool classic's that haven't been played in years like "Walk the Dinosaur" and others....AWESOME

And 93.9 MIA, though wavering at the time, still played some of the best freestyle songs that Miami is so well known for

AND 97.3 The Coast had a excellent selection of 90's songs that haven't been played in like forever

But flash forward to right now........what the heck?

MIA - Mostly modern hits, no freestyle and very dull

The Coast - Only limits itself to playing cool retro songs on a Saturday night, otherwise a Generic played over and over and over playlist of the same stuff

And the worst is SHE....they play a lot more of the overplayed 80s, dropped the really neat stuff and NO ONE is playing any Freestyle anymore....................That makes me angry

You know....I like freestyle a lot...it's part of what attracted me to Move to Miami. Honestly, I thought MIA was one of the best stations in the country. Who else mixed that caliber of dance music in one station? I mean think about it....Company B, Stevie B, Madonna, BeeGees, Chic, Weather Girls, Haddaway, Robin S, La Bouche, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and all the other dance hits mixed together was really fun to listen to. HOW did it not do well enough to KEEP?

Not to mention the "Heritage" of Coast's 80s weekend! God forbid people enjoyed that....look at them now! Way off the charts....and they block people from posting about it on their Facebook, no wonder they have less listeners!

And come on clear Channel.....What are you doing? If you're going to really kill Mia and move everyone to SHE...AT LEAST KEEP PLAYING ALL THE 80s HITS.....I'm getting sick of wearing my sunglasses at night......

My two cents, yours?

guy was very vanilla. Dont think anyone noticed. Who have they replaced him with?

As as far as the music portion of this post, I totally agree. You can pretty much punch around the dial (which i do) and hear the same music on nearly every station.

I pretty much agree. Hmm, maybe CC is planning to flip MIA in the future, because it seems that they are positioning SHE as the new MIA. It seems when SHE started focusing on the 80s, they dropped much of what they were playing from the 70s, and it seems they have dropped most of the rock they were playing (I guess to not conflict with BIG 105.9). You'll still hear an occasional 70s hit on SHE (yesterday, I heard the Bee Gees Stayin' Alive), but that's just stuff that MIA played before the current 90s and later kick. I suspect you wont hear things like Stevie Wonder's Superstition, which I heard more than once on SHE. Leave it to CC to f*ck up a good thing

And even BIG, while it's been consistent with the Classic Rock format, they do some strange things. What's up with playing the single version of Billy Joel's My Life, instead of the album version?!? Even Majic 102.7 plays the long version. SMH

It's a shame guys, real shame.

I don't know what CC is thinking but....MIA, SHE....it's confusing

MIA was awesome, hands down. If anything, they should have tried harder than give it up. I don't know a single person who DIDN'T listen to the old MIA. I know many who don't listen now.

As for SHE....SHE was a good thing but is being cut short....if we wanted 97.3 The Coast # 2...we would just listen to the Coast to begin with, at least they have Gnarly Charlie to keep the music entertaining, even when it's Adele

I think we need a station playings softer songs than WFEZ plays. <ducking projectiles>

Wow, Really ???

Yep, being honest here....My wife use to leave the station on all day when we were DATING...that's how long it's been

I remember it was playing at the Portofino Sandwich shop for the longest time too.....it was a fun station, except the last 5 months have stunk

We must admit that even we sometimes listen to Love 93.9-HD2 ;D

to sum it all up variations of 80's 90's & todays ( :D ) pop, softrock, & easy favorits can *ALL* be heard on 93.1-93.9-97.3-97.9-101.5- 102.1- key largo, 102.7 = including 60's n 70's, & 103.5... do we really need freakin 8 of these !!!! two will be just fine ive said it before on another thread.
the new 939 MIA is sorta moving away from the pack by exculding 80's but guess what they still play the same damned music all the other stations play that i just listed.

well guys what format could miami use that ISNT what i just listed OR rap/ hip hop r&b / spanish ??????? take a wild guess its what people come to miami for from half the world away and do that in the clubs on south beach... hmmm.... and its also what all the stations play when they want to get "hip"... hmmmm

Maybe there's something to be said here about today's music, *why* the older stuff is played. Oooooh what I saaaaaiiiiiddddd......

Seriously....so much modern music on the radio today has words bleeped out anyway.....more older stuff can stay intact.....

Anyway, that may be the case with all music on the radio *in any city* (80s & 90s). Younger folk download music anyway. Look for more spoken-word FM over the next few years. It's just not worth all the music fees to play all this stuff now. And BTW, WKLG 102.1----I have absolutely *no* clue what they are trying to do now. (I think that 80s on WKLG has been chucked.) I do not recognize any song they play. It may be "public domain" music and they don't deal with copyrighted stuff. Anyone who knows these songs, please let me know.

cd

cd id really agree with you there but nobody knows what new music is... other than pop/ hip hop... becouse nobody in town here plays NEW dance music other than 93.1 hd2
