I have been reading through some of these threads, and noticed the name dMarc. Is this company proliferating throughout taking over?? Am I the only one that has a problem with someone having outside access to an on-air system? Hmm...last station I worked for found out that was happening and killed the contract.

I'm no expert, but I think they allow you to pay for their system by inserting spots and selling your unsold revenue at the last moment.

Seems like a great way to over-pay for an automation system and end up with lots of annoying network radio ads on your station - keeping it perpetually sold out.

That's the idea...but, doing so allows outside influence in your automation systems. I'm sure there is something written in their contracts regarding "not responsible for system failures" or some crap like that. I'm NOT in favor of anyone having access to my automation systems...firewalled or not.

I'd be less worried about their "access" than their inability to code good software. Both Scott Studios and especially Computer Concepts are RIDDLED with flaws in the software, and in some cases hardware. Do yourself a favor and buy Prophet Nexgen if you can afford it. If you cannot, buy a nice cheapy called Simian.Prophet has stellar customer support that actually answers the phone instead of getting back to you whenever they want to also. Simian support is good for the price of the product. Forget the collection of crap from the Googlers playing radio if you want software that works and support that works for you after hours (without a long wait).

(Note to Google: You could have built a MUCH better system in the spare time of your fleet of developers already in CA instead of buying these two crappy automation comanies. Too bad..)

I actually have Audiovault Vault 2...haven't had any problems with it.
