IS IT ME OR DOES SMOOTH JAZZ SEEM TO FARE BETTER IN THE WEST?

Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Fran (better in Summer). Except for San Fran, every one of these cities outlets is in the Top 10 ratings wise? Wonder why that is? And in many regions of the country, there seems to be lots of stations bailing out of the format?

Los Angeles, Phoenix, Seattle and San Diego have very strong ratings. KKSF has low ratings this period. Las Vegas is building their ratings. Smooth Jazz has had a rough time back east and in Denver and Houston.

I've heard KTWV in LA and KIFM in San Diego and they both sound very good. KKSF on the other hand hasn't sounded good for quite some time now.
WNUA in Chicago seems to do well too so it may not be a geography thing.
I don't know about the others but sounding good may be a factor

Don't forget Sacramento. KSSJ-94.7 does pretty decent ratings.
