Is it me or is WLVY kinda... dead, or needs alot of help?

With this weired shake up in on air people, they can't seem to find anyone good except for the night guy. strobel sounds tracked, the morning show sounds like a country morning show thrown onto CHR, the weekends sound bad too? And where the hell is an online stream?! I'm also surprised that they haven't changed their name yet. What is happening there?

Thanks for the compliment. I have been fighting for name change and streaming since the day i got here. I guess you can tell how much power and influence I have? lol

Yeah, whatever happened to that Ryan Bombard guy? Not only was he talented, entertaining, and witty; he was drop-dead gorgeous as well. I mean, . . . that's what I heard.

Not sure where you are getting your info. He really wasnt any of those haha

I heard he got whipped and decided Mr. Mom is a better gig!!...;-)

Many years ago - A consultant wrote his report on 94Rock..the first thing on his report was to change the name! This was in the 90s!

Change the name because 94 Rock plays Top 40 and not rock? This station has one of the longest runs in the same format and using the same name in the market. Anyone who would suggest changing the name of the radio station (especially without a format change) would have to have rocks in their HEAD!

You can't BUY a 30 year run with the same name. A change in name would be the local equivalent of the new formula of Coca Cola that came out in the 80's.

they briefly changed it to Wired back in 07' then they suddenly for no reason switched back to 94 Rock. I dont care about the name as long as its playing music were good and good music at that.

Really? I guess the only surprise is that you still have a job. Pretty bold of you to a) come in the door criticizing the station that just hired you and b) to be openly critical of the station on a public radio board such as radio-info.com. You must be very talented and irreplaceable, or a relative of some higher-up in the organization.

No i did not come in criticizing anything. Being passionate about your job and working to improve it is not criticism its caring. I am not related to anyone that i know of here and am very happy to be accepted even with my critical attitude haha

Well Criztian, I have listen to 94 Rock for most of my life but now I only listen to 94 once in a while. I have noticed that you guys can't keep a morning show to save your life. The last 2 people to do the morning show (I believe Craig and the other one, cant remeber her name) left that station after a few months and have basically trashed the station everytime they mention it. Ever since Brian and Gary left the station, Mike Strobel is the only one thats keeping the station from going off the air. I hear Brian Stoll is back to do mornings. Hope he stays longer then a year. Something tells me Management is the problem.

After spending less than a year in afternoons at 94 Rock, (July '09-March '10) I can confirm a few things already posted...

1) Management is MOST CERTAINLY the problem there.
2) Strobel is definitely a driving force at the station and keeps people loyal.
3) Criztian is, if not irreplaceable, damn close to it.

How the 2 of them manage to stay there with an owner who is "the way he is" (to save myself from a rant - lol) is beyond me, but Mike & Criz are great at what they do.

The fact that they are the pillars at 94 Rock won't stop me from continually recommending that my new boss hire them though - would be nice to see them work someplace that actually appreciates the hard work and dedication they both put forth.

I agree with most of what heather is saying. The station's owner is living as a used car dealer who happens to own a radio station. This station could flourish. Strobel needs a a chick and another dude in the studio with him, and that'll make on hell of a morning show. on of the high points of his show was when himself, Molly, and Doug Guyer were there, hell it could be better than that. A young girl, another guy, and Stobel would make a great one! There are people who listen to WLVY ONLY for Criztian. He has an alright show, with plenty of listener interaction. He's fine over there. There should be a an afternoon girl, and a mid-day guy in there. Jonathan Channel does an alright job now, but he is on for 67 hours. Also another point, the website & station imaging, they both need drastic revamps. The imaging, ummm, well (LOL). The name '94 Rock,' I'm not sure about, I see it as if the station sounds good. Then the name doesn't matter. On the other hand, it does. It's confusing. With those call letter's you could go a "Y-94" or maybe even make it a non-CC KISS? The name needs to become more CHR. Also, the logo needs to be revamped as well. The paint think looks like a rock station logo.

It may take some cash, but maybe the owner can get rid of one of these tiny stations hardly anyone hears, and push some cash to WLVY. Could be a good station, just like, or better than Wink.
