Outta the top 10 12+ and not really competitive with KZL. I'm almost thinking THEY should change and grab Seacrest (BLECCH!).
 
I think the drop in ratings was directly related to WMAG's Christmas music and will go back to normal in the next book. I'm not a huge Simon fan, but I think the station is necessary for a diverse market. Not every station can be a blockbuster! When they try to be, all you get are a bunch of boring formats. There's a place for Simon and I'm sure it's listeners are pretty saleable. I hope it survives.
 
What they really should do is if they want to get some good big cumes is play a huge variety of all kind of music together. Like you could hear ACDC and Super Freek back to back and they could play everything! Like a top 40, but with songs from all eras or something! THen, they need to change the name to Fred or Kwame or something. I totally agree with Ditohead on this one!!! 8) :eek: ;) :)

There is NO listenable stations in the Triad! Certainly not Simon or KZL unless you can stand "punks"..Rock 92 might as well sign off as they are as stale as you can get and as far as WMAG goes, if I hear Rod Davis one more time, I'll Puke. He was never any good and he certainly hasn't changed..Ain't picking on just him..all the rest are just as bad..Wake up America and Triad, put some decent localized talent on the air and maybe..You can stay afloat!
 
could we see a 98.7...KISS FM come-back? would be great! Probably won't happen due to being one market over from another "Kiss", however, I think they should try to go more CHR and give KZL a little scare (to shake their staleness up) or at least a run for their money ;)
 
Hell YES! Carlo Wise is so on the pulse of triad radio! 105.7 KISS FM would probably be glad to just go away so 98.7 could go back to being KISS. This is just a real real good thought out idea here! Neat!

Sniff - BTW - Think the KISS station that Carloswicegood was referring to was WNKS Kiss in Charlotte, WNKS had a big showing in the Triad this book ... they've not shown up before, but were super (so strong I question it) strong in the book - Rediculous TSL. Were they doing some kind of promotion in the Fall? I ask that because they were really strong in Rowan, Davie and Yadkin county- counties bordering the Triad core counties (actually Davie and Yadin are Triad Metro counties)
 
Gosh Sniffy: You think that maybe Simon should play "Simon Says" by the 1910 JuicyFruit Co....like, uh, you know, like every other song...and then play a country tune....and then maybe like, uh, something by JeezyWackoWack....and then maybe "Sweet Home Alabama"...and then, like, uh, a Bruce Sprongstein song....and then, uh, like......oh geez, my brain is soooo overloaded with spectacular ideas....that it is.....uh, you know. Hey got any job openings???????
 
B-100 was a great radio station, making real progress against WMAG, the WMAG took over!
 
B100 was a milk-sop of a station. Max and Spam in the morning??? And Bernie had an endless revolving door of salespeople. He chewed them up and spit them out. The music was way soft and boring. Even if you thought the music was better than WMAG, the station couldn't win because they could never keep salespeople long enough to forge relationships with clients. Bernie was his own worst enemy!

Yeah, but you have to agree, when Tommy Walker was there before and it was WGLD..Gold..it had to be the worst ever!
Nobody could sell either format
 
I totally agree with ATTICA, Tommy Walker stunk up the place. Keep dreamin' if you think a station like that will ever, I mean EVER come back in this market place and do any kind of numbers sales or ratings. Take it to the bank. I was thinking about starting another thread about this, but it's not worth it. I heard Rob Davis today for two breaks and he's doing that thing...

He can't say a "P" to save his life. He thinks it's so cool to never pop a "P", so now he's a damn ventrilaquist or something. I swear to god,
listen to any break he does, he's gonna say, "99 foint 5". He can't say "point". Listen to it. It's hysterical! He can't say a "P" in any word, but dang, not even in the name of the station?????????? "99 FOINT 5"! You'll never fof a fee that way you fussy.!!!!! Justy flaying around with ya, ya big old fagina!

hAHAHAHAH, You got that one right Sniffy...He must work cheap! Wonder if they'll get May Cay on there? Haven't seen her on any Rebath Spots latey! Anybody know what became of her partner from years ago..Greg Hunter???
 
Okay....you girls have gone too freakin' far. Rod Davis is my hero.....my Mentor. I emulate him....I worship him. If only Wicker could have his balls and personality, then many SameSong 98.7 would dent my fenders and the ARB. Geezeewheezee! give the guy a break. Put him and Beth Ann McBride on the air at the same time.....and terrestialllllllll....er, earthy radio would never be the same. God...I love that kind of radio.
