Is it time for the NFL's television rules to be overhauled?

Here is a new statement Goodell has made in regards to the future to the NFL

Is there a viable alternative to the current DirecTV-exclusive Sunday Ticket package that the NFL would be able to monetize to the same extent? Satellite TV, like cable, is in decline, but will the NFL be able to free up Sunday Ticket to other channels of distribution after 2022 without hurting the bottom line?

a labor day weekend kickoff would be better for fans going to games, but less people at home to watch them

Low TV ratings were why the Labor Day weekend starts were discontinued after 2000.

I'm hoping Asheville doesn't switch to Tampa Bay @ Denver, since Dallas @ Seattle is the bigger game. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are doing the Seattle game.

According to the map on the506.com they didn’t.

The Fox late game ended just in time for "The Simpsons" last night, except they had to keep running commercials.

I adjusted the recording time since I found out in time that this had happened, but it may not have been enough. I haven't watched the entire episode yet. but I did watch "Family Guy" and they couldn't just limit what came after the last commercial break to the credits. They had to have more of the episode as well.

If I had paid closer attention I would have seen I needed to add ten minutes to both, not five.

wrong. I already said the explanation

wrong again. NY and Carolina areas the game was there until conclusion. Those markets joined Philly/Minny with about 40 seconds gone in the game

aint gonna happen. So because one game runs in OT lets give the networks up to an hour to BS until the late game? PLEASE PLEASE send me some of whatever you are smoking.

nope. Too late for most folks. Again ONE TIME it happened in how many years of Red Zone?
WRONG !! It's happened MANY times on Red Zone. 8:00 OM ET is RZ's cut off time REGARDLESS of what's going on with the late games

Am i right? CBS is allowed to show Bengals-Eagles to the end? Have the rules changed?
You must be stuck in a time warp or something :D

The Bengals-Eagles game was in Philly. Even with flex scheduling, this would've been a De Facto CBS game anyway (Which is was as CBS carried it)

The point was the "bonus coverage" on CBS ran past the 3:25 time and FOX had the DH. Up until a couple years ago CBS would have to leave the game and go to studio unless you had the game from the get-go (which was basically the friends and family game....Philly, Cincy, Lexington, Columbus and Dayton carried it from the get go). Last year this rule was relaxed and both CBS & FOX carried bonus coverage to the end. This game went way past 3:25 (it was like 3:55) yet the bonus coverage was allowed to be shown to all markets that had an early game
