Appears the Jack imaging is completely gone. I haven't heard a single mention of Jack in listening to 103.7 today. Percursor to a format flip? Or just waiting on new branding? Pretty unusual to go by just the frequency, no nickname, no call letters.

NO rim-shot east of here, which includes the Dever's tower, the 103.7 tower, east of Devers and the 97.5 tower south of Winnie will last in Houston because of signal problems covering the most populated part of Houston, which is the areas West and Northwest of downtown!
Which is why they should program to demographics where the signal is best. And, although many of you don't like it, that means the heavily Hispanic east side of the Houston market. Unless you go for a totally unique format that will have an audience regardless of the signal. For instance, I've been curious as to when we'll finally see the first Vietnamese station on FM here (although an upgraded 103.3 would be a better fit.)
The Beaumont stations 93.3, 97.5, 98.5, 107.9 belong back on their original transmitters in Vidor (93.3 & 97.5), Port Arthur (98.5) and Fannet Rd (107.9).
Which would probably mean more of the Missouri City sticks going to Hispanic targeted formats.
Lots of money was spent building these new rim-shot towers sadly and format after format failed or flipped due to signal coverage- in my opinion.
Although Cox got it right with the Country Legends format on 97.1, which has lasted six years on a signal that had seen a long string of failures in the previous decade. Once again, the key is targeting the demos where the signal is best.
I recall back in the good old days (late 70s to early 90s) the Spanish stations were mostly on AM
In case anyone hasn't noticed, this isn't the 1970's any more. Houston is no longer made up of good ol' white boys working in the oil industry, or related businesses. There have been huge demographic, economic, and social changes in the past 35 years. Radio has changed to reflect that. That's why you have numerous Spanish language stations on FM, and why KIKK-FM, the KLOL rock format, Classical on KLEF and KRTS, and other formats are long gone.
