Is KTKT 990 on reduced power?

I drive AZ 77 frequently between Tucson and Show Low and pass the time away by tuning the AM/FM dials. I can't believe how poor KTKT's daytime signal is north of Tucson for a 10,000 watt signal with a lobe in that direction. For example, in the Oracle-Winkelman area KTKT is about on par with 250 watt KCEE 690. What gives?

I tried tuning them in early evening last night from Chandler and got nothing but background noise and several unidentified stations competing for the freq.

If it went off the air completely nobody would miss it including the folks at Lotus.

KTKT is a shining example of total destruction of a legendary radio station.

From what I have heard the copper ground wires have been stolen from the xmitter site on Jack Rabbit & have yet to be replaced. Been operating at reduced power for some time now......
