is KXAN and KNVA off Dish Network?

Does anybody have Dish Network around Austin? If so, is KXAN and KNVA gone from the local channel lineup? Or are the channels still there? Its already past the termination deadline. Thanks.

just check on kxan's website and they have a notice for dish net's subsribers. you have to click on attention alert they have. it's up there. and radio/ tv business reports does have a report on lin's and dish net diffulties. thanks fred cantu.

In its statement, Dish says the FCC is meeting on perhaps changing these regulations that have led to, frankly, chaos when it comes to retransmission consent. Does anyone have anything on this? Personally, if this really IS a 150%, or whatever, increase on the part of LIN, then were I Dish, I'd hold out myself.

It's a different world. Back in the old days the networks would compensate the stations for carrying all those network ads. Now the networks want the stations to pay them and that-- in many cases-- includes a share of what the stations get from cable and satellite in these retransmission deals. KXAN may be asking for the hike, but it's really the network that wants the money.

Fred...I thought the only place this was happening was with the CW stations (which hasn't been too successful due to poor ratings) and with the NBC out in the San Francisco area. My thoughts locally was that this was, for all intents and purposes, LIN simply trying to ratchet up the money from Dish.
