Is Loop Loud 97.9 HD2 gone???

The last few days I keep getting nothing. Did they pull the plug on the signal??? If so.........just my luck......I can never win as a fan of hard rock/metal when it comes to Chicago radio, even on the secondary channels!!!!!

Unfortunately, I'm not getting anything on 97.9 HD2 either! I was thinking they pulled it as well (I tried listening on 6-17 and got nothing, and haven't been able to listen since). Oh well, off to the web or Music Choice for my Rock fix!

It's OK with me if they give up on HD entirely. I suppose they never played any 13th Floor Elevators anyway.
They didn't, did they? Any obscure Troggs or Animals songs? Bo Diddlley? (A Chicago Original)
I expect not.

Glad to see there's someone else that likes the 13th Floor Elevators. Love "You're Gonna Miss Me"
and "Reverberation" among others.

You might find your Troggs, Bo Diddley, or 13th Floor Elevators elsewhere.......Loop Loud was playing hard rock/metal....the likes of Slayer, Shadows Fall, All That Remains, Anthrax, Motorhead, Maiden, Slipknot, Megadeth......etc etc...

Nobody at Emmis seems to have an answer. They claim it's still on the air but thus far.....everytime I tune it in I get nothing.

Hey, isn't that just how HD radio is supposed to work? ;D

Actually if your looking for "deep tracks" from groups like the Animals and more. You
could most likely hear them on The Drive(97.1 HD2 and 96.9HD2).

I have listened to the deep tracks on the Drive's HD channels and the content is good,
but HD radio is crap! Every time I tried to listen I got a lot of dropouts. So it has been
a while since I listened. I couldn't tell you if Loop Loud is still on, but it is/was a good
station playing new rock, like 94/7 The Zone did. Once again it got to annoying because
no matter what I did it wouldn't stay locked in. The HD radio is now just sitting around
collecting dust....

Really sad that they didn't find a better system than HD, maybe these formats could
have got a lot of listeners.

Maybe they'll bring it back and start calling it "Chicago's Rock Experience" now that they're no longer using that tagline on their bottom-feeding rock station in New York...

It's back on.......I wonder if all the recent storms knocked it out. It was off the air for a full week but now it's alive and kicking again. Loop Loud 97.9 HD2

Q2 was screwed, replaced by brokered south Asian programming

I'm getting WLUP's HD signal solid now from my antenna position, including Loop Loud. I didn't move it.

WILV's HD signal has also dramaticly improved out of nowhere

I think WLUP and WILV may have increased their HD power. That may or may not have required the installation of a new HD transmitter.
