IS MADISON GONE FROM THE SUNNY 93.9 MORNING SHOW?

Just happened to find this at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRSN-FM

"Sunny 93.9 had a morning show hosted by Madison Lane, who previously was co-host of Bob and the Showgram on G105 until 2004. She was let go on August 3, 2006. It has been speculated that the new syndicated show featuring Whoopi Goldberg will be the replacement."

hmmm...how bad would that suck...

Madison's contract was not renewed b/c Sunny's AM ratings were terrible. Sunny will be carrying "Whoopi", and skewing the format more R/AC.

Here we go again...

When this station first became Sunny back in 1996, flipping formats from the old Classic Rock 93.9, irate WZZU fans made up their own slogan for the WRSN calls: We Really Suck Now. With what's going on now, they may have been on to something... Ironically, the current classic-rock station, WRDU, has also, from what I've heard, had sucky ratings over the last few years. The common link between the two? Clear Channel picked up both stations at the same time, then did what they seem to do best: run them into the ground.

I don't listen to Sunny, not my kind of music, but Bob and Tom is the only good thing about RDU right now. I think it would be fun if they kept Bob and Tom and went talk the rest of the day since no one else in the city does good talk, now that Miller has left WPTF. The rest of PTF's lineup is mediocre at best. Rush's best days are behind him. Hannity is just a clone of Rush. Bill L. in the afternoons is pretty good when he talks about illegal immigration, but I'm guessing the big wigs at Curtis don't like him talking about illegals too much with the Spanish station down the hall. And why does Clark Howard still have a radio show?

i think it would be cool to make it like 107.9 The Link in Charlotte. Kinda Hot Talk with Adult Top 40 or even Hot AC music sprinkled in. It would be a refreshing format and would probably fit well in the area. Just an idea...

nolink

Link ain't doing that well.

The rage right now - mind you, with no report card beyond a six-week lifespan yet - is Movin'. Milwaukee gets one after the weekend. Raleigh could be next.

Whoopeeeee! (yeah, her too)

I can totally understand her wanting to go off on her own when she went to Sunny initially. I am surprised that she didn't use what influence she had to really build a 25-54 appeal show....i.e. get her OWN co-host and regular cast. She did a GREAT midday show on G105 before doing mornings with Bob. I hope she is able to get on across the street somewhere.
