Is Magic 98.9 soft AC?

Go to the Arbitron ratings section on this site. I recently discovered there was one after I couldn't get to the site I had been using for ratings for years.

It has a way to send corrections, if the format has definitely changed. The person responded and said he believed Magic 98.9 WAS soft AC, though I'm pretty sure that hasn't been true for at least a year or so, just based on this board. I haven't tried listening myself all that much (I only rarely can pick it up at home, and I just don't think about it in the car), even in the mountains when I was there, because I just didn't think about it. Actually, in my motel room I don't think I was even picking it up.

I did manage to convince this person WEZV was not soft AC. He/she would have to think WEZV and Magic were similar. That's a joke.

I don't know, but it sure will put you to sleep in a hurry....
I hate to imagine what you would have thought of this station back in the early 90s.

Or worse yet, the 80s.

Ironically, I was put on the air when I called Foxy 99, an urban contemporary station, to tell them how far away I was receiving their signal. At the time I was TRYING to listen to WSPA.

Of course it's sleepy, it's an AC station :D

FWIW, 20 in a row (which usually starts at 8am) will now be running throughout the workday at various times starting Monday at 8am. This is, naturally, in response to My 102.5 playing 60 minutes of music at certain times of the day.

I don't know how I feel about all of these music marathons...it's fine once a day, but if you go playing an hour of music or 20 in a row throughout the day the breaks are pretty rough afterward. Songs are pretty sparse.

If they listen to the station alot I'll tell what happens just like WIWF the wolf you get 96min music sweep people listen to the music soon as the pirade of commericals start they look for another station because they know it's a long time before any more music hits.

I know. I know 93.3 The Planet does 93-minute "rock blocks", but I never listen to them so I'm not sure how they do it. 102.5's commercials are rough after those hour-long music sweeps, it'll be interesting to see how Magic does theirs.

If 98.9 doesn't get either The Climb, I'm Yours, or Love Story in every 20 in a row....there is no justice. :D
