Is Nassau Broadcasting going down for the count....

i dont think frank is going anywhere. ad if they are going to dump frank, the good move would be to put the bone on 107.5 and 107.1 but thats just an opinion. but i dont see frank going anywhere.

oh, contraire. going with the logic that 1.) M18-34 is the demo that The Bone is seeking and 2.) It only took The Bone a year to be #1 M18-34 in counties where they have a full signal (the only FAIR way to look at the ratings), I'd say ZZO is getting crushed. The Bone takes their low-end demo and The Hawk takes their high-end demo. ZZO has almost 30 years in the market over those other 2 stations and they didn't even put up a fight. The other two "rock" stations in the market, The Bone and The Hawk, have been beating ZZO in their respective demos almost since the days they signed on.

The Bone will never be huge in the overall 12+ numbers, but considering that their signal is coming in from OUTSIDE the market, they're doing damn well. Now they just gotta STOP PLAYING BILLY IDOL. lol
 
and just for snorts and giggles, let's look at this idea of putting The Bone on 107.1 and 107.5. Not a bad idea at all. As I said above, The Bone has shown the potential to own M18-34 if it could get better market coverage. Branding-wise, I think "The Bone" is such a stupid name. It makes it seem like rock listeners are neanderthals - not a very productive message. Putting the signal on 107.1 and 107.5 would be a decent opportunity to re-brand slightly. Too bad there's already a "Rock 107" nearby.
 
InTheBiz, you raise some very good points, however, i think the bone is the perfect name for the station. it has a good sound to it. if you ask me, it sounds kind of badass. and if Frank FM must go im all for the bone going on there, and no re nameing would need to be done, "107 The Bone" will still work. I'd hate to see Frank go, especially since 2 of the DJ's ive been listening to since WTHK was around are on there.
