Is Prell gone?

and rush starts there monday?

In January,2005 KIRO infested the Seattle airwaves with the most putrid talk show host in radio history. Prell sucked so bad it was literally painful to hear. Ratings in the 9-12am timeslot went into absolute freefall. Mercifully, KIRO management brought this fiasco to an end. Good riddance to Allan Prell...he was the worst.

RE Rush: Really think KIRO would put a syndicated host in that time slot??
Live and local in prime day parts is one of the few things they have going for them. Whether those live and local hosts are ratings magnets opens a different can of worms.

In Prells defense

I never did like Mr. Prell. However, he was quite popular in Philadelphia at one time.

Perhaps it was just the wrong shtick in the wrong place at the wrong time?

And lets face it, Seattle has had a few pretty bad talk show hosts. Does anyone remember Brian Maloney?

I wish Mr. Prell, and Mr. Maloney, well. I just would not listen to 'em.

It was, mercifully, KIRO's listeners who brought the fiasco to the end by turning off the radio. KIRO management brought the loser Prell to Seattle in the first place and stuck with him through every horrible book until now. I'd like to know how Tom Clendening hangs on to his job, given that he was THE person who lobbied for and got Prell in there.

And why wasn't Clendening at the meeting at Eastlake announcing the changes?

Trend tomorrow. Any predictions on whether the KIRO freefall will continue?

Oh yes...I do...and...thank goodness, both of them are gone!

ditto...

Well, I didn't care for Prell at all

He reminded me of Peter Weissbach with a constant sinus infection.
He had that same droll sense of humor but wasn't a comedic person at all.

Ok, cutting to the chase..he sucked.

some of the worst talk hosts in the country are on the air in Seattle now. WOW, what a sucky talk radio market.

I predict....
that IKNOWITALL will resurface this afternoon
and
PREDICT Alan Prell's demise, while reminding us that the prediction was, in fact, declared approximately six to eight months before radio was actually invented.

Game on.

Re: Rick Miller!

Rick Miller and Alan Prell are the same person.

Notice in the job posting KIRO's calling itself Seattle's #1 station? This just in, breaking news to the freakin news station - you're NOT number one by any Arbitron definition.
